The White Sea is located on the northwest coast of Russia, between Karelia, Kola Peninsula and Kanin Peninsula.
The main port on the Kola Peninsula is the Kandalaksha. Near Kandalaksha gulf is the deepest part of White Sea with the deepest place — 351 m.
The White Sea freezes from October-November till May-June with ice thickness about 40cm in the warm winter and as much as 150 cm in the cold winter.
The sea hosts more than 700 species of invertebrates, about 60 species of fish, and five species of marine mammals, including friendly beluga, the white whale which possible to see on diving organized by diving center in the Kandalaksha.
