Barents sea

The Barents Sea — the marginal sea of the Arctic Ocean, known in the Middle Ages as the Murman Sea.

The average depth of the sea — 222 m/728 ft, the deepest place — 600 m/1968 ft near the Bear Island

The surface area — 1 400 000 sq. km

The water temperature — +3-5 degree by Celsius in the February-March, in the Summer near a shore till +11-12 C.

The Kola Peninsula is the southwest border of the sea.

The main port — Murmansk

The fishing source — more than 20 species, main — the cod, haddock and capelin, herring, catfish and etc.
